Parent Prep courses
Expecting a new baby is an exciting time, but it can also be pretty overwhelming, as any pregnant mum will know. While there is a lot of sensible information about birth plans and how to pack a hospital bag, there can also be too little, or too much being said about how to actually be a parent in the real world.
We have launched our Parent Prep courses to help you find the advice you really need. From which gadgets to buy (and which to bin!) through to basic first aid for babies, and those all-important tips and tools for good sleep. We have got it covered so you can just enjoy waiting for the arrival of your little one with confidence.
Join us at The Nursery and meet our experts, as well as other mums just like you, and let us help you on your journey to becoming a completely prepared parent.
Each course lasts six weeks and includes sessions on:
The Go-To Gadgets: which products will save you life and which will waste your money
Feeding Support Group: breast or bottle, there is no judgement here, only support. With advice from a qualified breastfeeding peer support worker, as well as hints and tips for practical feeding both at home and on-the-go.
Wellbeing & Mindfulness: with your hands full, it is more important than ever to look after yourself. We teach you the tools you need to de-stress whether you have an hour off, or just a few seconds to yourself.
Sleep Research: our accredited sleep consultant will help guide you through the first few weeks of sleep, helping you understand what to expect and how to help your little one become confident sleeper
First Aid: our taster session will guide you through the basic principles of first aid for a newborn. While no-one wants to think of the worst happening, knowing what to do if it does will give you confidence as a new mum.
Q&A with Stay & Play: as we near the end of the course, we may have some new arrivals! This is the time to ask all the questions that have cropped up since you first held your little one in your arms, and a great chance for the babies to meet each other for the first time. We encourage social gatherings whatever your age!
