We had another visitor from someone who helps us this week …. a firefighter! The children were amazed to see the uniform he had to wear and even more excited when they were able to try it on! They were exposed to a whole range of new vocabulary as Dave the firefighter spoke about the equipment he has to use and some of his roles and responsibilities. He left us with a big fire engine shaped box full of activities, games and role play clothing for the children to explore.
to extend the children’s learning, we set them the task of finding and counting the smoke alarms in their house, asking parents to please ask them to explain what they are for and see if they remember from this week’s conversations.
